Jim McGreevey and former Gov. Richard Codey left the state. For the 2006-2008 legislative session, Sires was given the largely honorary title of Speaker Emeritus. Mr. Sires is a former Chairman of the Legislative Services Commission. Mr. Sires served as the Mayor of West New York from 1995 to 2006. Mr. Sires received a B.A. from Saint Peter's College in Spanish and Marketing and was awarded an M.A. from Middlebury College in Spanish. He is the owner of the A.M. Title Agency Inc.
