Mr. Ron Huberman has been Senior Advisor of Alvarez & Marsal, LLC since March 2013. Mr. Huberman is an Operating Executive of Chicago Growth Partners. Mr. Huberman is an Operating Executive of Prairie Capital, L.P., where he joined in 2011 with a focus on deal origination in public safety, transportation and K-12 education. At the CTA, he instituted a company-wide turnaround plan based on performance management principles. Mr. Huberman also created the state-of-the-art Operations Center, Chicago's “nerve center,“ which provides real-time intelligence to public safety and homeland security officials. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Chicago Illinois Board Education. He joined Chicago Growth Partners after a 16-year career in Chicago city government, where he began as a police officer. He served as Chief Executive Officer of the Chicago Public Schools since January 28, 2009 and served as its Superintendent, where he implemented major reforms, including a student safety plan. At Chicago Public Schools, he initiated sweeping reforms including assessments of all students, new accountability measures and a first-of-its-kind student safety plan. Mr. Huberman served as the President of the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) from May 2007 to 2009. From 2005 to 2007, he served as Chief of Staff for Mayor Richard M. Daley and from 2004 to 2005, he served as an Executive Director of the City of Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC). Mr. Huberman served for nine years at the Chicago Police Department as a Beat Cop and Assistant Deputy Superintendent for Administration, where he created and implemented a policing technology system in the country, as well as managed and developed community-based strategies that utilized this technology to achieve significant decreases in crime. He serves as a Director of Navman Wireless UK Limited and Specialized Education Services Inc. and Reliance Communications, Inc. Mr. Huberman serves as a Trustee of Rush University Medical Center. Mr. Huberman has an MBA from the Booth School at the University of Chicago along with a Masters in Social Service Administration, where he was both a Paul and Daisy Soros Fellow and an Albert Schweitzer Fellow. He also holds BA in English and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
