Dr. Jacob A. Frenkel, Ph.D., serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Group of Thirty. ... as Governor, Dr. Frenkel led the liberalization of the Israeli financial system, removed foreign exchange controls, and reduced Israel's inflation rate to a level prevailing in the major industrial countries. He served from 1987 to 1991 as the Economic Counselor and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund. Dr. Frenkel has credited with reducing inflation in Israel to levels prevailing in advanced economies, with liberalizing Israel's financial markets and with removing foreign exchange controls. From 1973 to 1987, Dr. Frenkel served as faculty of the University of Chicago, where he served as the David Rockefeller Professor of International Economics and as the Editor of the Journal of Political Economy. In 1994, he was named the Weisfeld Professor of Economics of Peace and International Relations at Tel Aviv University. Dr. Frenkel serves as the Chairman of J.P. Morgan Chase International Financing Limited of JPMorgan Chase & Co. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board of IJ Partners and Corsair Capital LLC. Dr. Frenkel has been a Director at Boston Properties Inc. since February 4, 2010. He serves as a Member of International Advisory Board of Council on Foreign Relations Inc. Dr. Frenkel is the author of numerous books and articles in the fields of International Economics and Macro-Economics. He holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
