Dr. Jeffrey D. Ullman, Ph.D., Jeff is a Co-Founder of Gradiance Corporation and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Ullman was a Member of the technical staff of Bell Laboratories from 1966 to 1969. Dr. Ullman serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Kirusa, Inc. and Clever Sense, Inc. Dr. Ullman served on the faculty of Princeton University from 1969 to 1979. From 1990 to 1994, he was the Chairman of the Stanford Computer Science Department. He served as the Chairman of the CS-GRE Examination board, Member of the ACM Council, Chair of the New York State CS Doctoral Evaluation Board, on several NSF advisory boards, and is past or present editor of several journals. Dr. Ullman was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1989 and held Guggenheim and Einstein Fellowships. He won both the SIGMOD Contributions and Codd Innovations awards, is the 1998 winner of the Karl V. Karlstrom Outstanding Educator Award, and the 2000 winner of the Knuth Prize. He is the author of 16 books, including widely read books on database systems, compilers, automata theory, and algorithms. He received the B.S. degree from Columbia University in 1963 and the PhD from Princeton in 1966.
