Mr. A. Bray Cary, Jr. serves as the Chief Executive Officer and President of West Virginia Media Holdings, LLC. Mr. Cary is an experienced media executive who has assembled West Virginia Media, a multi-media communications company that reaches all of West Virginia. Beginning in 2001, Mr. Cary assembled a group of predominately West Virginia investors and began acquiring media businesses that today include four network television stations and The State Journal, a statewide ... business and leadership publication. Working in WVU s Office of Intercollegiate Athletics as a student, Mr. Cary developed an understanding of college sports and the media. After leaving WVU, Mr. Cary served for the Sun Belt Conference, where he developed and operated the Sun Belt Conference Television Network until 1984. He then founded Creative Sports in Charlotte, North Carolina, specializing in the syndication of televised college football and basketball games. From 1994 to 1998, He was an ESPN Consultant and Negotiator for college and motor sports. In 1998, Mr. Cary joined NASCAR. As NASCAR s Vice President of Broadcasting and Technology, Mr. Cary helped consolidate all television rights to NASCAR races. A 1966 graduate of Hinton High School, he earned two degrees from West Virginia University - a bachelor´s degree in journalism in 1970 and a master´s degree in public administration in 1971.
