Dr. Harold O. Levy, J.D., serves as the Managing Director of Palm Ventures. Dr. Levy served as the Managing Director and Special Counsel at Plainfield Asset Management LLC. He served as an Executive Vice President at Kaplan Inc., where he was responsible at various times for legal affairs (previously serving as General Counsel), corporate communications, government affairs, and human relations. From 1985 to 2000, Dr. Levy served as an Associate General Counsel at Citigroup, ... He serves as Treasurer of the Roosevelt Institute. He was a member of the Kaplan Higher Education Executive Team and started Kaplan University's online School of Education. He served as the Chancellor at the New York City Schools for three years during the Giuliani and Bloomberg administrations. Dr. Levy is a member of the National Adjudicatory Council of the National Association of Securities Dealers and of the boards of several colleges and universities. He served on the New York State Board of Regents, the New York Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa Exchange Board, and as the Chair of the Drafting Committee, Securities Industry Voluntary Initiative for State, and Local Political Contributions. He is a Member of the New York State Bar. He was a Telluride Scholar at Cornell and a Lincoln Exchange Scholar at Oxford. Dr. Levy sits on the Presidential Advisory Council of the Teachers College (Columbia University), Council of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Executive Committee and Board of Trustees at Pace University, the Citizens Budget Commission and the Citizens Union Foundation Board. He has honorary doctorates from City University of New York (Baruch College) and from Bard and St. Francis colleges. Dr. Levy received a B.S. in 1974 and a JD in 1979 from Cornell University and an M.A. in 1978 from Oxford University in the Honors School of Politics, Philosophy, and Economics.
