Background

John T. Stuart, III has been an Interim Chairman and Interim Chief Executive Officer of Guaranty Financial Group Inc. and its subsidiary Guaranty Bank since November 2008. Mr. Stuart serves as Managing Partner of Little Elm Investment Co. LP. He joined Guaranty Bank as Chief Lending Officer in 1990 and served as its Senior Executive Vice President. Mr. Stuart began his banking career with Republic National Bank as Management Trainee and served as its President of Republic ... Bank-Dallas and its successor firm First Republic Bank Dallas, and also served as its President, Executive Vice President and Vice Chairman. He had a 30 year career with the First Republic Bank system. Mr. Stuart served as Vice Chairman of Guaranty Bank until August 31, 2003. He has been a Director of Guaranty Financial Group Inc., since 2007. He serves as a Director of Guaranty Bank and the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association and serves on the Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America. He serves as a Member of Advisory Council of Red McCombs School of Business. Mr. Stuart served as President of Circle 10 Council and is the Chair-elect of the UT Chancellors Council. He is a Member of the McCombs School Hall of Fame, a Distinguished Alumnus of UT-Austin, and was selected to serve on UT-Austin’s Commission of 125. Mr. Stuart holds a B.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin and attended Southern Methodist University’s Southwestern Graduate School of Banking and Harvard University’s Advanced Management Program.
