Mr. Robert C. Wright, Bob serves as a Vice Chairman and Executive Officer of GE, a holding company of NBC Universal, Inc. Mr. Wright is an Executive Officer of General Electric Company of GEFS (Suisse) AG. He serves as a Senior Advisor to Lee Equity Partners LLC. He had a diversified career in general management, marketing, and broadcasting. He served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NBCUniversal Media, LLC (also known as NBC Universal Inc.) from May 2004 ... to February 6, 2007. During his successful tenure at the helm of NBC, he extended the broadcaster into cable and satellite, international, and new-media markets. In 1980, he served as the President of Cox Cable Communications and rejoined GE in 1983 as a Vice President of the Housewares and Audio businesses. Mr. Wright served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of National Broadcasting Company Inc. (“NBC") since September 1, 1986 and served as its Chairman since June 4, 2001. He joined GE in 1969 as a Staff Lawyer, leaving in 1970 for a judicial clerkship. Mr. Wright rejoined GE in 1973 as a Lawyer for GE Plastics, subsequently serving in several management leadership positions with that business. During his tenure at the helm of NBC, he extended the broadcaster into cable, international, and new-media markets. At the same time, Mr. Wright maintained NBC's commitment to its core broadcasting business by expanding its ownership to 14 NBC-affiliated broadcast stations across the country. Prior to joining NBC, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of General Electric Financial Services from April 1984 to August 1986, Head of GE's Housewares and Audio Division from May 1983 to April 1984, and President of Cox Cable Communications from January 1980 to April 1983. He served as Chairman of the Board and Director of NBC Internet Inc. since November 1999. Mr. Wright served as Vice Chairman of NBC Universal of General Electric Co. He serves as Honorary Director of The Advertising Council, Inc. He has been a Director of General Electric Co. since 2000; and Ralph Lauren Corp. since May 23, 2007. Mr. Wright serves as a Director of The Partnership For New York City, Inc. He serves as a Director of Center for Communication, Inc. He has been a Director of AMC Networks Inc. since June 30, 2011. In addition, he is on the Board of Governors of New York-Presbyterian Hospital and is a Member of the Society of New York Hospital Inc. Mr. Wright serves on the Board of Directors of the Motion Picture and Television Fund Corporation and the American Film Institute and Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Television and Radio. He is an honorary Trustee of the Foundation of American Women in Radio and Television. He is also a trustee of the College of the Holy Cross. He served as Trustee of The RAND Corporation. Mr. Wright served as a Director of General Electric Capital Corp. Mr. Wright served as a Director of NBC Internet Inc. since November 1999. He served as a Director of General Electric Capital Services Inc. Mr. Wright serves as a Member of Advisory Board at Nantucket Project, LLC. He was honored by the Center for Communication for his industry leadership and has received the Ad Council's Public Service Award in recognition of his commitment to public service in both the public and private sectors. Mr. Wright has also been inducted into the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame. He has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Golden Mike Award from the Broadcasters' Foundation, the Steven J. Ross Humanitarian of the Year award from the UJA-Federation of New York, and the Gold Medal Award from the International Radio & Television Society Foundation. Mr. Wright is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and the University of Virginia School of Law, where he received his LL.B. degree.
