Mr. Norman B. Leventhal is a Life Member Emeritus of The Corporation of The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Director of The Picower Institute for Medical Research and has numerous community and civic involvements. Mr. Leventhal has served MIT in many capacities including as a Member of the Executive Committee, Member of the Investment Committee, and Chairman of Visiting Committee for The School of Architecture and Planning. He has been the Chairman of The ... Beacon Companies for more than ten years. Mr. Leventhal co-founded The Beacon Companies, a major real estate developer, in 1946. He served as a Director of Beacon Properties Corporation, since 1994. He served as a Director of the Red Lion Properties Inc. (“General Partner“), General Partner of Red Lion Inns Limited Partnership since March 10, 1997. He served as a Director of Doubletree Corp. and its General Partner, Doubletree Partners, since December 1993 until December 1997. From September 1992 to December 1993, Mr. Leventhal served as a Director of GQHP. Mr. Leventhal is also an Honorary Life Member of the Board of Overseers of The Museum of Fine Arts and has been a Member of the Board of Trustees of The Museum of Science. Among other civic contributions, Mr. Leventhal has served as Chairman of The Artery Business Committee, is Chairman of The Friends of Post Office Square and is Chairman of the Trust for City Hall Plaza. Mr. Leventhal is a graduate of the Boston Latin School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Leventhal is the father of Alan M. Leventhal and the father-in-law of Edwin N. Sidman.
