Background

Mr. Robert A. Rosenfeld serves as Partner of Litigation Group at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP's San Francisco office. Mr. Rosenfeld's practice focuses on antitrust, complex commercial litigation and financial institutions. For eight years, Mr. Rosenfeld has represented Microsoft Corporation in numerous antitrust proceedings in California and elsewhere in the United States and abroad. In addition, he provides advice regarding antitrust issues to companies in Silicon ... Valley. He has also advised major health insurance companies and has litigated several cases involving the application of antitrust principles in the health care marketplace. Mr. Rosenfeld's practice also includes complex business litigation, principally on behalf of major financial institutions. And, he has represented and counseled special litigation committees in the conduct of internal investigations and the prosecution and defense of derivative litigation. From 1986 to 1992, Mr. Rosenfeld traveled to the Soviet Union on a number of occasions to participate with Soviet lawyers and academics in projects involving commercial matters and human rights issues. Before joining Orrick, Mr. Rosenfeld served as a Shareholder at Heller Ehrman LLP. He serves as Vice Chairman and Director of Physicians Foundation and California Pacific Medical Center. He serves as Director of California Pacific Medical Center, Consensus Building Institute (MIT). He served as Director of San Francisco Neighborhood Legal Assistance Foundation from 1995 to 2002, The George Washington University from 1987 to 2003, World Affairs Council of Northern California from 1998 to 2004 and Bar Association of San Francisco from 1996 to 1999. He served as Clerk of Hon. Marvin E. Frankel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and Hon. Warren E. Burger, Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. He was Named as one of "America's Leading Lawyers: Antitrust," Chambers USA, 2003-2008, The Best Lawyers in America, Antitrust, Commercial Litigation, 2006-2009 and Included in Who's Who Legal, Commercial Litigation, 2007.
