Mr. John H. Harris is a Trustee at Grinnell College. A 1939 Grinnell graduate in economics, Mr. Harris founded John Harris and Associates and Star Forms Inc. after being discharged from the Army Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel. During 50 years in the forms business, Mr. Harris was President of the National Business Forms Association and served on the board of the International Business Forms Manufacturing Association. He was elected Business Forms and Systems “Man ... of the Year.” He is Trustee of the John H. & Lucile Harris Foundation and Chair of Harris Enterprises Ltd., a real-estate development firm. Currently Mr. Harris is the owner of Huntington Marine, Naples, Florida. He and his wife, Lucile (deceased, March 15, 2001) Hanson Harris ’40, endowed an annual faculty fellowship and contributed to the Harris Student Center and to the restoration of Mears Cottage and Steiner Hall. He is active in local, regional, and national organizations, including the Naples Salvation Army Board and the John H. & Lucile Harris Foundation. He is also the former natio nal Vice President of the American Red Cross. John and his wife have each been recipients of Grinnell’s Alumni Award.
