Background

Mr. Yigal Erlich, MBA, M.SC is the Founder, Chairman, and Managing Partner of The Yozma Group. Mr. Erlich served as Chief Scientist of Maayan Ventures Ltd. In 1992, Mr. Erlich convinced the Israeli government to allocate $100 million for venture capital. He is the founding father of the Israeli venture capital industry and one of the most prominent figures in the Israeli high technology arena for the past 15 years. Mr. Erlich was the Founder and Chairman of Pitango Venture ... Capital, Star Ventures Management GmbH, Gemini Israel Funds, Nitzanim Fund, and Walden Israel. He served at Ofer Hi-Tech Ltd. He serves as the Chairman of MATIMOP. Mr. Erlich serves as an Independent Director of Russian Venture Company. He serves as a Director of High Tech Industry Association and Collgard Biopharmaceuticals Ltd. He serves as a Director of Kailight Photonics, Inc. and RVC (OJSC). Mr. Erlich was also the Chairman and Founder of the Israel Venture Association. From 1984 to 1992, he served as the Chief Scientist at Israel's Ministry of Industry and Trade. Mr. Erlich commanded an annual budget of $200 million, primarily directed at research and development projects of high-technology companies. In addition, he initiated the Generic Technology Program. Mr. Erlich also started the Technology Incubator Program that led to the creation of 24 Incubation Centers throughout Israel. He was instrumental in the establishment of several bi-national industrial and technology research and development cooperation agreements with Canada, France, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Spain. Mr. Erlich was the Chairman of Executive Committee at the United States-Israel Bi-National Industrial Research and Development Foundation. He holds an M.B.A. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Mr. Erlich also holds an M.Sc. and a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
