Previously, he was a General Partner at Chemical Venture Partners, where he began his career and specialized in acquisitions of middle market companies. Over the course of his career, he has successfully identified, facilitated, and invested in more than 130 lower-middle market businesses. He serves on the Board of Directors of Andrew M. Martin Company, Educational Symposia, Inc., Military Model Distributors, Inc., and Will Fix Corporation. Mr. Kirtley serves on the Board of Directors of selected current Florida Capital Partners portfolio companies. He is the Vice Chair of the American Federation for Children. Since 2001 has been the Chairman of Step Up for Students. He is a Director of The James Madison Institute and was a Vice Chairman of Alliance For School Choice for five years. He is a former Director of selected prior Chemical Venture Partners portfolio companies. Mr. Kirtley was a Director of Florida Partnership for School Readiness (FPSR) and The Patrons Program. He holds a B.S. degree in Commerce from McIntire School of Commerce, University of Virginia and also teaches at the institute.
