Mr. Hurst has been active in the non-profit sector and currently serves as the President of the Board of the Whitney Museum of American Art; as a Member of the Board of Overseers of the Wharton School; as the Chairman Emeritus of the Jewish Museum; as a Member of the Trustees' Council of the National Gallery of Art; as a Trustee of Central Park Conservancy. He was also employed at Henry Street Settlement. He received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1968 and an undergraduate degree from Clark University in 1996.
