While at Latham and Watkins, Mr. Hundt helped to establish the telecommunications practice, serving such clients as Hughes Communications, the Wireless Cable Association and Vanguard Cellular Systems. In addition to his work at Latham, he served as an Attorney to the United States Court of Appeals, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights. He clerked for the late Chief Judge Mr. Harrison L. Winter of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth. He served at Syniverse Brience LLC. Mr. Hundt helped negotiate the World Trade Organization telecommunications agreement, opening markets in 69 countries to competition and dropping barriers to foreign investment. He presided over the implementation of the historic Telecommunications Act of 1996. Mr. Hundt played a significant role in making the largest single national commitment to K-12 education in America's history. Under his administration, the FCC raised more than $12 billion for the United States Treasury through competition-creating spectrum auctions. Mr. Hundt served as a Co-Chairman of The Forum on Communications and Society at The Aspen Institute from 1998 to 2006. He serves as the Chairman of the International Digital Economy Accord (IDEA) Project. He served as a Member of President Barack Obama’s Presidential Transition Team (2008-09), where he served as the Head of Economic Agency Review Group. He serves as the Chairman of Sigma Networks Telecommunications, Inc. Mr. Hundt serves as the Co-Chair for The Coalition for Green Bank. He served as the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from 1993 to 1997, for the United States. Mr. Hundt has also received awards from numerous children's foundations, including Children Now, Parents' Choice, and from national elementary and secondary school organizations. Mr. Hundt teaches a Seminar at the Yale Law School and the Yale School of Management. He holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from Yale Law School in 1974 and a B.A., magna cum laude, with exceptional distinction, in History from Yale College in 1969.
