Dr. McKnight is a Member of the National Academy of Sciences , the Institute of Medicine and the American Association of Arts and Sciences. He is a recipient of many awards including his most recent induction into the Hall of Honor at The University of Texas at Austin, College of Natural Science in 2003 and was awarded the Monsanto Award by the National Academy of Sciences. In addition, Dr. McKnight has authored and co-authored numerous publications. He holds a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Virginia.
