Background

Mr. Garrett M. Potter is a Managing Director at Steelpoint Capital Partners, LP. Mr. Potter oversees investments in branded consumer companies, including apparel, luxury, hard goods and retail, as well as marketing and advertising services. In addition to working with our portfolio companies, he plays an active role in the transaction side of the business. He is responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities, performing due diligence and executing the overall ... structuring and completion of transactions. He is also a Managing Director at Shoreline Partners, LLC. Mr. Potter is an experienced executive with a diverse background in corporate finance and operations working with companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500. Prior to joining Steelpoint, he was a Lead Advisor for Shoreline Partners. While at Shoreline Mr. Potter led numerous sale, acquisition and fundraising transactions across a wide variety of industries with an emphasis on consumer products and services. Prior to joining Shoreline, he held a senior finance position with BAE Systems, where his responsibilities included financial reporting and analysis, strategic planning and corporate development. Mr. Potter began his career working in an operational role for a small non-profit organization. His operational background also allows him to take an active role helping portfolio companies when needed, including having served as interim Chief Financial Officer for two Steelpoint investments. He is also a former Registered Securities Representative with FINRA. Mr. Potter graduated summa cum laude from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Finance and M.S. in Accounting.
