Prof. John Gabriel Kassakian, Sc.D serves as Engineering Advisor at FastCAP Systems Corporation. Dr. Kassakian has been Professor of Electrical Engineering of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Massachusetts since 1973 and has been its Director of Laboratory for Electromagnetic & Electronic Systems since 1991. He served a two-year tour of duty in the U.S. Navy. He has been Director of Marvell Technology Group Ltd. since July 11, 2008 and Ault Inc. since 1984. He serves on Corporate Advisory Boards of Tyco Electronics and Lutron Electronics. He has been a Director of American Power Conversion Corporation since June 2001. He served as a Director of ISO New England Inc. until October 1, 2010. He served as a Director of Sheldahl Inc. since 1985. He served as Founding President of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Power Electronics Society and served as the U.S. representative to the European Power Electronics Association. He is the recipient of the IEEE Centennial Medal, the IEEE William E. Newell Award, the IEEE Power Electronics Society's Distinguished Service Award, the IEEE Millennium Medal, the European Power Electronics Association Distinguished Achievement Award, and the Kabakjian Science Award. In 1989, he was elected a Fellow of the IEEE and in 1993, elected to the National Academy of Engineering. In 1993, he was also awarded an IEEE Distinguished Lectureship through which he lectured internationally. Dr. Kassakian received SB, SM, EE, Sc.D degrees from MIT.
