Mr. William J. Bratton, Bill has been the President of The Bratton Group LLC since 2000. Mr. Bratton serves as Senior Advisor of Kroll Advisory Solutions of Altegrity, Inc. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Altegrity Security Consulting, an affiliate of Altegrity, Inc. since November 2009. ... and was appointed Police Commissioner of the Boston Police Department in 1993. He served as a Senior Consultant to Kroll Public Services Safety Group and Crisis and Consulting Management Group. From 1990 to 1991, Mr. Bratton served as Chief of the New York City Transit Police. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Bratton served as Police Commissioner of the City of New York. Mr. Bratton led the development of CompStat, the internationally acclaimed computerized crime-mapping system advanced by the NYPD in the 1990s, which is now used by police departments nationwide. He served as Chief Executive of the LAPD from October 2002 to October 2009 and the New York Police Department (NYPD). From 1996 until his service in Los Angeles, Mr. Bratton worked in the private sector and formed The Bratton Group, LLC in 1999. Mr. Bratton also provided consulting services to Kroll, Inc., overseeing the monitoring team that assisted in implementing the Federal Consent Decree with the LAPD. A U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, Mr. Bratton began his policing career in 1970 as an officer with the Boston Police Department, rising to Superintendent of Police, the department's highest sworn rank, in just 10 years. In the 1980s, Mr. Bratton headed two other police agencies, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Police and the Massachusetts Metropolitan District Commission Police. He served as President of new First Security Consulting, Inc. He served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Rite Aid Corp. Mr. Bratton has been Chairman and Director of Altegrity Risk International, Inc. since November 2009. Mr. Bratton served as Executive Chairman and Director of Kroll, Inc. at Altegrity, Inc. since September 2010. He serves as vice chairman of the Homeland Security Advisory Council. From 1996 to 1998, Mr. Bratton served as Vice Chairman of First Security Services Corporation. Mr. Bratton also serves as a Director of First Security Services Corporation and Smart Cop Corporation. He has been Director of Motorola Solutions, Inc. since January 4, 2011. Mr. Bratton served as a Director of Rite Aid Corp. since 1997. He served as a Director of Firearms Training Systems Inc. (now Meggitt Training Systems, Inc.) from September 17, 1996 to December 2002. A frequent lecturer, writer, and commentator in the fields of law enforcement and justice systems, Mr. Bratton is the author of a critically acclaimed autobiography, Turnaround, published by Random House in 1998. Among his many honors and awards, Mr. Bratton holds the Schroeder Brothers Memorial Medal, which is the Boston Police Department's highest award for valor. In 2007, Mr. Bratton was honored with the Executive Leadership Award from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and was recognized by Governing Magazine as one of its Public Officials of the Year. In 2008, he was honored with the Outstanding American Award by the Los Angeles Philanthropic Foundation. Most notably, Mr. Bratton was honored by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with the honorary title of Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his exceptional contributions in promoting and enhancing operational cooperation between the United States and the United Kingdom police. Mr. Bratton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Law Enforcement from Boston State College (University of Massachusetts Boston). He is a graduate of the FBI National Executive Institute and was a Senior Executive Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
