He serves as Chairman of Brickell Biotech. He has been the Chairman of the Board of BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc since 2013. He has been a Director of Inspire Pharmaceuticals, Inc., since March 1, 2010; BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since October 10, 2011 and Tranzyme, Inc. since September 20, 2011. He serves as a Director at Project HOPE, an organization dedicated to achieving sustainable advances in health care around the world. He served as a Director of ZIOPHARM Oncology, Inc. from June 2010 to November 8, 2010.
