Mr. Golden served as a Partner, Executive Vice President and Strategic Advisor at Revolution LLC from February 2006 to December 2011 and focused on finance and transaction-related matters of the firm. He was a Managing Director, mergers and acquisition at Chase H&Q, Investment Arm. He partnered with Mr. Steve Case at Revolution in 2006, has over three decades of industry experience and, shortly after its founding, bringing his extensive history as a financier of emerging growth companies and his deep understanding of capital markets with his unique abilities in negotiation and deal-structuring for the firm and its various businesses. Mr. Golden spent 18 years at JPMorgan and Hambrecht & Quist. He served as the Vice Chairman and Director of Global Investment Banking Practice for Technology, Media, and Telecommunications Clients at JPMorgan until 2006. During these years, Mr. Golden acted as lead merger advisor, equity underwriter or investor on more than 150 transactions. He was named a Co-Director of Mergers and Acquisitions in 1992, Director of Mergers and Acquisitions in 1995, and Co-Director of Investment Banking in 1998 at the firm. He is credited with negotiating and structuring the only four-way, public company, pooling-of-interests merger and was instrumental in the development of off-balance sheet financing vehicles for the biotechnology industry. He also negotiated the first public company stock-for-stock acquisition by a United States company for a United Kingdom company. From 1990 to 1992, Mr. Golden was a Vice President at Allen & Company. From 1984 to 1987, he was an Associate at the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York and London, where he practiced corporate finance and securities law. Prior to practicing law, he was a Law Clerk to the Honorable Charles M. Merrill of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has been the Chairman of the Board at Extend Health, Inc (formerly Extend Benefits Group, LLC) since December 2011 and previously served as its Director since September 2008. He has been a Director of Barnes & Noble, Inc. since September 2010. He serves as a Director of Encirq Corporation, Blackbaud, Inc., Everyday Health, Inc, Vinfolio, Inc, Revolution Health Group and Waterfront Media. Mr. Golden serves as a Member of the Advisory Board of Granite Ventures, LLC and Partners for Growth, L.P and the Executive Chairman of CODE Advisors LLC. He was a Director of Gaiam, Revolution Money, and Exclusive Resorts. He is a Trustee of The Branson School, the Bay Institute Aquarium Foundation, the Katherine Delmar Burke School, and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure. He is a FINRA Registered Representative. He holds a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1983 where Mr. Golden was an Editor of the Harvard Law Review. He received an A.B., magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, in 1980 from Harvard University.
