During his tenure from 1992 to 2002, Cisco achieved wide recognition for early and aggressive use of the Internet, e-commerce, and information technology, including being a very early customer of supply chain and e-commerce industry leaders like Ariba, Siebel and webMethods. Mr. Solvik was also the Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Cisco, from January 1993 to 1995. From 1981 to 1992, he was at Apple Computer as a Senior Director of Information Systems and Technology. He held a number of senior information technology management roles supporting the rapid growth and global expansion of the firm and oversaw the Apple Online Services Group. Mr. Solvik joined Entellium Corporation Board of Directors on January 19, 2007. He is a Director of DocuSign Inc. since April 3, 2006 and serves on the Board of Directors of Digital Fuel Technologies Inc.; Noetix Corp.; Topio; Encover Inc.; Cohera; and Asera. Mr. Solvik is a Member of Advisory Board of ICG Group, Inc. He served as a Director of Context Integration Inc. since March 1997. While at Cisco, Mr. Solvik was named to the CIO 100 four times by CIO Magazine and was chosen as one of “the 25 most powerful executives in Networking” by Network World and featured in four Harvard Business School case studies on the successful use of information technology in the enterprise. He has been quoted in articles on information technology and eBusiness in Fortune, the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, the Economist, the New York Times, Information Week, CIO Magazine, and many other publications and books. Mr. Solvik has been a Keynote Speaker at over 50 industry conferences on information technology and eBusiness. Mr. Solvik received a B.S. in Business Administration, with a concentration in Information Systems, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
