Mr. Paul J. Ferri is a Founding Partner and General Partner of Matrix Partners. Mr. Ferri serves as a General Partner of Matrix V Management Co., LLC since February 1982. He served as the Founding Partner of Matrix Partners in 1982. Mr. Ferri has been a venture capitalist for more than 30 years. Prior to Matrix, Mr. Ferri founded Hellman Ferri Investment Associates and served as its General Partner from 1977 to 1982 and served as a General Partner of WestVen Management ... from 1970 to 1978. Mr. Ferri serves as a Director of Netezza, Aylus Networks, Empirix, VeriVue, Veveo. He served as a Director of Applix, Ascend Communications, Atria Software, BancTec, Inc., Bytex, Codex Corporation, Equipe Communication, Paradyne, Redstone Communications, VideoServer, veveo.tv, VideoServer, Winphoria Networks, Xyplex, Ezenia!, Inc., and numerous other private companies. He serves as a Member of Board of Overseers of Columbia Business School. Mr. Ferri served as a Director of Cascade Communications Corp. since June 1991. In February 2001, Forbes magazine selected Mr. Ferri as one of the Top 20 Venture Investors of all time and the “Best VC in Boston”. Also, among other honors, he recently received the 2001 Massachusetts Telecommunications Council Award for “Venture Capitalist of the Year”. In 2009, Mr. Ferri served as a Director of Airvana Inc. Mr. Ferri was elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. In 2003, he was inducted into the Private Equity Hall of Fame, citing his work “in founding and helping to build Matrix Partners into one of the most successful venture firms in the industry”. Mr. Ferri holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering degree from Polytechnic Institute of New York and an M.B.A. degree from Columbia University and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering degree from the Cornell University.
