Ms. Sydney Smith Hicks, Ph.D. serves as the Chief Executive Officer of SSHICKS Advisors. Ms. Hicks served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of VECTORsgi, Inc. Ms. Hicks has more than 25 years of experience in the financial industry including banking, working with the Federal Reserve and as an Academic Professor. She was responsible for maximizing business performance and strategically guiding the growth and expansion of VECTORsgi,, Inc. Ms. Hicks served as ... Senior Vice President of Sterling Commerce and President of the Banking Systems Division of Sterling Commerce since January 6, 2005. For more than six years prior to that she served as Vice President of Operations and Business Development with the Banking Systems Division since 1998, vice president of Operations and Marketing in 1997, and director of Marketing in 1996, where she led new business development, supervised product acquisitions and was responsible for managing the strategy, design, development, maintenance, installation services and customized consulting for nine product solutions, which contained 40 products. Ms. Hicks has extensive knowledge of banking and electronic transactions gained from NationsBank Corporation, a predecessor of Bank of America, where she served as Senior Vice President of Transaction Solutions and Image Initiatives. She was a Chief Economist for NCNB (and First Republic and InterFirst), financial economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and a visiting scholar for the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. She was a co-founder of DeviceFidelity, where she joined in 2008. Ms. Hicks served as the Executive Chairman of DeviceFidelity, Inc. and serves as its Director. She serves as a Member of Advisory Council at The University of Texas at Dallas The School of Management. She serves as a director at Smart Start Inc. During her career, Ms. Hicks has held a board position with the Electronic Check Clearing House Organization (ECCHO), was the founding Chairwoman of the board of Payment Systems Network (PSN), now owned by The Clearing House Payments Company, and held various academic positions. Ms. Hicks serves as Vice Chairman of the Corporate Planning Committee of the National Association for Business Economics; as a member of the Advisory Board of Cornell College's Berry Center for Economics, Business, and Public Policy; and as a member of the Advisory Council of the Department of Economics at Washington University in St. Louis. She is on two not-for-profit boards in Dallas; and is a Life Member of the University of Texas at Dallas Development Board. She has led several boards and organizations over the last 30 years, including IWFDallas. Ms. Hicks earned both a Masters degree and Ph.D. in Economics from Washington University and a Bachelors degree in Economics from unCornell College.
