Background

Mr. Jonathan Silver is a Senior Advisor of Energy Investments at The Riverside Company. Mr. Jonathan joined The Riverside Company in 2012. He is a columnist for the American City Business Journals. Mr. Silver serves as an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He co-founded Core Capital Partners and served as its Managing Director and Managing General Partner. He served as President of Commonwealth Holdings ... Inc. He also served as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Tiger Management Corp. He led Tiger investments in the media and communications industries and was responsible for the Tiger’s advanced technology and administrative functions. He served as an Executive Vice President of John Blair Communications and Chief Operating Officer of Tucker Communications. He also held a number of senior positions both the public and private sector. He began his business career as an Associate at McKinsey and Company. Mr. Silver has an extensive career in renewable energy investment and venture and private equity investing. Mr. Silver headed the federal government's investments in clean and renewable energy and, in that role, led investments of more than $40 billion dollars across a wide array of wind, solar, geothermal, biofuels and nuclear projects. Mr. Silver also led the government's multi-billion dollar investments in electric vehicles and advanced automotive technology. Mr. Silver was a Visiting Distinguished Senior Fellow at Third Way. He served as Senior Policy Advisor to both the United States Secretary of Commerce and the United States Secretary of the Interior. He served as a special advisor to the United States Secretary of the Treasury. He was also a Presidential Appointee of U.S. Department of Energy. He serves as a Member of Board of Advisors at Sol Systems LLC. He has been a director of Eemax, Inc., since December 2012. He serves as a Director of Core Capital Partners, Sonoco CorrFlex LLC, CorrFlex Graphics, Newsletters.com, Infinite Power Solutions Inc., and Infotech Strategies. Previously, he served as a Director of buySAFE Inc., Core Communications Corporation, Aravo Solutions Inc., EarthSat Corporation, RulesPower Inc. and Quantum Photonics. Mr. Silver has served on, or chaired, numerous corporate and non-profit boards, including the Federal City Council, WETA, and American Forests. He also served as a special advisor to the Chancellor of the DC public schools. He did doctoral coursework at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva while on a Fulbright Fellowship. He is native in English. Mr. Silver has Bachelor's Degree from Harvard University, graduate degree in Public Policy from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Honors Degree from Harvard University, and has received both Fulbright and Rotary Graduate Fellowships.
