Mr. William M. Campbell, III, Billy has been the President at Akoo International, Inc. since 2010. While at Discovery, he led the Discovery Channel and ... TLC through double-digit ratings increases and oversaw the production of cable's highest-rated natural history program of all time, "Planet Earth". Prior to joining Discovery Networks, he served as President of Miramax Television from 1998 to May 2002. From 1994 to 1998, he served as an Executive Vice President of CBS Television. He served as an Executive Vice President of CBS Entertainment. Before joining CBS, he served as Senior Vice President for Drama Development at Warner Bros. Television from 1991 to 1995, where he developed a series of critically acclaimed dramas, including "ER." Mr. Campbell played a significant role in CBS's highly successful development including series featuring Ray Romano, Bill Cosby, Ted Danson and Kevin James. Prior to joining ABC., he worked as an Analyst in the mergers and acquisitions department of Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. in New York. He began his career at ABC Entertainment as Director of Current Programming in 1987, where he was involved in the production of award-winning series. He has been a Director of Citadel Broadcasting Corporation since June 3, 2010 and ePals Corporation since July 26, 2011. He served as Director of Education Management Corporation since 1996. He was a Rotary International Scholar at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Mr. Campbell is a 1982 Graduate of Harvard College (B.A. in Economics and a 1987 Graduate of Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration (M.B.A.).
