Dr. Daniel D. Villanueva, Danny, Ph.D. serves as an Advisory Partner at Rustic Canyon/Fontis Partners, LP. Dr. Villanueva has been an Officer of one of the corporate general partners at Bastion Partners. Previously, Dr. Villanueva was the Co-Founder and Managing Director at Bastion Capital Corporation and Bastion Management Corporation. From 1964 to 1990, he was a Senior Executive with the predecessor to Univision. Since 1994, Dr. Villanueva has over 25 years experience ... as an Executive in Spanish language television, having served as Senior Vice President, Partner, and Officer at Spanish International Communications Corp. and its successor company Univision Group from 1964 to 1990. He also served as the President at KNBC and Univision Communications Inc. Dr. Villanueva has developed and sold numerous broadcasting properties across the United States. Under his direction, KMEX-TV in Los Angeles became the most profitable Spanish language station in the United States. He has been a Director and Principal stockholder of one of the corporate general partners of Bastion Partners. In 2002, Dr. Villanueva purchased Integrated Water Resources. He is a Director of Southwest Airlines. Dr. Villanueva has been a Director of Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. since September 24, 2003. He has been a Director of Telemundo Communications Group and Telemundo Holding Inc. since December 15, 2000. He serves as a Director of both the New America Alliance and the Marathon Club. He serves as a Director of California Commerce Bank, NUMEX Corp., Banamex USA, Juanita’s Foods, and Renaissance Cosmetics Inc. Dr. Villanueva serves as Trustee of the Metropolitan West Group of mutual funds. He was a Director of Craton Equity Partners. He served as a Director of Film Roman Inc. until February 5, 2003, when he resigned. Dr. Villanueva resigned from the board of USA Broadband Inc. on January 20, 2004. He was a Director at Spanish International Communications Corporation, and later, Director of 7UP Bottling of Southern California. Dr. Villanueva’s prior civic activities have included board membership of the American Red Cross, the National Association of Broadcasters, National Junior Achievement, National YMCA, the National Hispanic Education Fund, the California Broadcasters Association, the California Economic Development Corporation, the Greater Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, KCET Public Television, the United Way, Stanford Graduate School of Business, the Ventura County Community Foundation, and the Museum of Contemporary Art. He was also active in immigration reform legislation and was a Commissioner of the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. He received his M.B.A. from Wayne State University in Detroit, B.A. in Economics from Oakland University, and is the recipient of two Honorary Doctorate degrees from New Mexico State University and California Lutheran University.
