Background

Mr. Alan F. Horn has been the President and Chief Operating Officer of Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. of Time Warner Inc. since October 4, 1999. Mr. Horn's primary focus is the oversight of all of Warner Bros.' theatrical and home video operations, including Warner Bros. Pictures (worldwide theatrical production, distribution and marketing), Warner Independent Pictures and Warner Home Video (operations in 90 international territories, the largest distribution infrastructure ... in the global video marketplace). Under Horn's leadership, the Studio's theatrical and home entertainment divisions operate as solidly established category leaders. In 1987, he co-founded Castle Rock Entertainment. Mr. Horn served as Chief Executive Officer of Castle Rock Entertainment from January 1994 to October 1999. Mr. Horn has enjoyed a very successful career as a hands-on executive with experience in film and television in both the business and creative areas. During his tenure, Castle Rock attained worldwide recognition for the most successful series in television history, "Seinfeld," and for such Best Picture Oscar nominees as "A Few Good Men," "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Green Mile," as well as such other hit films as "When Harry Met Sally," "City Slickers" and "In the Line of Fire." In his 14 years with Lear and Perenchio and their successor companies, T.A.T. Communications and Embassy Communications, Mr. Horn assumed business and creative responsibilities for both film and television, domestically and internationally. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Embassy Communications. Mr. Horn served as President and Chief Operating Officer of 20th Century Fox Film Corporation and prior to that, he was Chief Executive Officer of Embassy Communications. He spent two years in brand management with Procter & Gamble. Prior to working at Procter & Gamble, he served nearly five years in the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of Captain. He has been Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios at Walt Disney Co. since June 11, 2012. He served as Chairman of Castle Rock Entertainment from January 1994 to October 1999. He is a Vice Chairman of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and on the Board of Trustees for the Autry National Center in Los Angeles. Mr. Horn is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the American Film Institute, the Hollywood Radio and Television Society and the Museum of Broadcasting. Mr. Horn served as a Director of Univision Communications Inc. since 1992. Mr. Horn was a member of the Executive Committee and the Planning Committee of Turner Broadcasting Systems Inc. from January 1994 to December 1996. He is a member of the Harvard Business School Board of Associates and a founding Board Member of the Environmental Media Association. Mr. Horn received an MBA (awarded with distinction) from Harvard Business School.
