From January 1998 to June 1998, he served as the President of Accipiter, Inc. and sold it to CMGI, Inc., structuring the transaction. Later in 1998, Mr. Frey moved to OpenSite and in 20 months there increased its value from $6 million to the acquisition price of $550 million. In 1999, Digital South Magazine named him the Southeast's top Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Frey currently serves on the Boards of four Intersouth portfolio companies, including Bright View Technologies. He has been a Director of Inspire Pharmaceuticals Inc. since June 2002 and Member of Audit Committee, Chairman of Corporate Governance Committee, its Nominating sub-committee, and served as a Member of Compensation Committee. Mr. Frey serves as a Director at 6th Sense Analytics, and XActional. He was a Director of SciQuest, Inc. and Invistics Corporation. He served as a Director of Semprius, Inc. and Nitronex. Mr. Frey has been active in academics and the Triangle community. He also sits on the boards of the Emily K. Center and Durham Academy. Mr. Frey also serves as a Professor of the Practice in Entrepreneurial Management and Law at Duke University with joint appointments from the Fuqua School of Business and Duke Law School. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Southern California Film School and of Duke Law School where he served on the Duke Law Journal.
