MK Dr. Erel N. Margalit, Ph.D. is the Founder and Chairman, since January 2011 of Jerusalem Venture Partners. From its founding until January 2011, he served as the Managing Partner of the firm and helped build numerous technology companies that are today global enterprises with traction in Israel, the United States, Europe, and Asia. MK Dr. Margalit focuses on media technologies, combining projects in the fields of animation and gaming. He also invests in more traditional ... industries such as communications and networking, and enterprise software. MK Dr. Margalit plays a direct role in creating and managing the global investment strategy for Jerusalem Venture Partners. He founded Animation Lab Ltd. in 2006. MK Dr. Margalit specializes in media technologies, enterprise software, communications, and mobile infrastructure. He has successfully led 15 exits with such companies. In 1993, MK Dr. Margalit set the tone for Israeli venture capital investing by creating a new model that combined a hands-on management approach with international market creation strategies. Prior to founding the firm, he served as the Director of Business Development for the City of Jerusalem under its former Mayor, Mr. Teddy Kollek. MK Dr. Margalit was instrumental in facilitating the arrival of more than 70 technology firms to the city including Intel, Digital, IBM, and many others. He also founded Bakehila and Hama'abada.
