Mr. Walter B. Kielholz is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss Reinsurance Ltd (“Swiss Re”) since May 1, 2009. He has been Non-Executive Independent Chairman of Swiss Re Ltd. since March 2009. Mr. Kielholz has been a Director of Swiss Re since June 26, 1998. He served as an Executive Vice Chairman of Swiss Re Ltd. since January 1, 2003 and a Vice-Chairman in 2007. Previously Mr. Kielholz served as a Managing Director of the firm since June 1998 and the Chief ... Executive Officer from January 1, 1997 to December 31, 2002. He joined Swiss Re at the beginning of 1989 as Head of the Japan and Far East section, where Mr. Kielholz was responsible for coordinating marketing and for underwriting property and casualty business. From 1991 to 1993, he served as a Senior Vice President of Swiss Re. He has been Non-Executive Independent Chairman of Swiss Re Ltd. since March 2009. At the beginning of 1992, Mr. Kielholz was also responsible for the Swiss Re Ltd business in the U.S. and the U.K. He served as an Executive Board Member of Swiss Re Ltd. since January 1993. Mr. Kielholz serves as the Chairman of Winterthur Life Insurance Co. He served as the Chairman of Winterthur Swiss Insurance since January 1, 2003. Mr. Kielholz serves as a Member of the Advisory Board of Corsair Capital, LLC. His professional career began with the General Reinsurance Corporation in 1976. He was responsible for marketing tasks in Europe. In 1986, he moved to Credit Suisse, where he was responsible for client relations with large insurance groups in the multinational services department. From 1986 to 1988, he served as a Vice President of Credit Suisse. Mr. Kielholz served as the Chairman of Credit Suisse (Australia) Limited from January 2003 to April 2008. He served as the Chairman of Credit Suisse Group from January 1, 2003 to April 24, 2009. Mr. Kielholz served as the Vice-Chairman of the Board from May 31, 2002 to December 31, 2002. He has been a Director of Credit Suisse Group since 1999. He served as a Director of PartnerRe Ltd. from August 26, 1993 to May 2003. Mr. Kielholz served as a Director of Winterthur Swiss Insurance Company. He served as a Member of Supervisory Board of Euler & Hermes SA. From 2003 to 2009, he was a Member of the Board of economiesuisse. Mr. Kielholz is actively involved with a number of leading financial services industry groups. He is a Treasurer and Member of the Board of the International Association for the Study of Insurance Economics, the President and Former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Avenir Suisse, and the Chairman of the Zürcher Kunstgesellschaft. Since 2004, Mr. Kielholz has been a Member of the European Financial Roundtable and serves as its Chairman. From 1999 to 2003, he was President of the Geneva Association. In 2005, Mr. Kielholz was elected by the members of the International Insurance Society to the Insurance Hall of Fame. From 2006 to 2007, he was the President of the International Monetary Conference. Mr. Kielholz studied Business Administration at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland and graduated in 1976 with a degree in Business Finance and Accounting.
