Dr. Michael N. Liebman, Ph.D., is the Managing Director at Strategic Medicine, Inc. He is a Senior Institute Fellow and the Chief Scientific Officer of the Windber Research Institute. Dr. Liebman consults for five pharma and biotech companies. He is a very accomplished and well-known scientist in the field of genomics and bioinformatics with more than 25 year's industry and academic experience. Dr. Liebman’s research focuses on computational models of disease progression ... stressing risk detection, disease process modeling, the development of clinical data systems, the mining of pharmacogenomic data in the discovery of disease markers and analysis of lifestyle interactions. Dr. Liebman served in lead roles at University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center at Roche and Wyeth. He served as Chief Scientific Officer at ProSanos Corporation (TM). Dr. Liebman also served as an Executive Director at the Windber Research Institute since November 2003. Previously, he was Director of Computational Biology and Biomedical Informatics at the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute of the University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center. Dr. Liebman served as the Global Head of Computational Genomics of Roche Pharmaceuticals (Roche Biosciences) and the Director of Biomedical Informatics and Pharmacogenomics at Wyeth-Ayerst Pharmaceuticals. He was a Director of Genomics at Vysis, Inc. and the Director of Bioinformatics and Genomics at the Amoco Technology Company. Dr. Liebman serves as a Member of Advisory Board of Gene Express Inc. He serves on 12 international Scientific Advisory Boards. Dr. Liebman has been a Member of Scientific Advisory Board of InforSense Ltd. and Cogenics Icoria, Inc. since April 15, 2003; and a Member of Scientific Advisory Panel of VistaGen Therapeutics, Inc. He served as a Member of Advisory Board of iNetworks BioOpportunity Fund, L.P. Dr. Liebman serves as a Science Advisor of Trellis Bioscience. Dr. Liebman serves as the Chairman of the Healthcare Task Force for the SMART program, and is on the Human Health and Medicinal Chemistry Commission of the IUPAC. He has been on the economic development programs in the Philadelphia Life Sciences Sector and the State of Illinois Biotechnology Commission. Dr. Liebman serves on the faculty of Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Pharmacology and Physiology and Biophysics. He is an Invited Professor at the Shanghai Center for Bioinformatics Technology. Dr. Liebman has done a Ph.D.
