Katherine A. Schipper, Ph.D. is a Thomas F. Keller Professor of Business Administration, Duke University. Dr. Schipper has been a Director of Getinge/Castle Inc. (formerly MDT Corporation) since February 1995. since 1994, she serves as a Director of Hong Kong Card Funding Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manhattan Card Co. Ltd., a credit card issuer based in Hong Kong. Since 1993, Dr. Schipper has been the Eli B. and Harriett B. Williams Professor of Accounting ... and KPMG Peat Marwick Faculty Research Scholar and, since 1991, Director of the Institute of Professional Accounting at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Chicago. Dr. Schippe also served on the faculty of the University of Chicago and, prior to that, on the faculty of Carnegie-Mellon University's Graduate School of Industrial Administration (now the Tepper School). Dr. Schipper has been Member of Accounting Policy & Practice Advisory Board for Bureau of National Affairs Inc., February 2007. She serves as Member of Accounting Advisory Board at Tax Management, Inc. Dr. Schipper served as President of the American Accounting Association and from 1997 to 1998 was its Distinguished International Visiting Lecturer. She served on the FASB's Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council from 1996 to 1999. Dr. Schipper holds a B.A. degree from the University of Dayton and M.B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Chicago.
