Mr. Ronald J. Doerfler serves as a Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration at Hearst Corporation. Mr. Doerfler serves as Treasurer of Hearst Broadcasting Inc. He joined Hearst from ABC Inc., where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 1977. He joined Capital Cities Communications in 1969 and served as its treasurer since 1977 and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 1980. He served as Chief Financial Officer ... and Senior Vice President of The Hearst Corporation since February 1998. He played a major role in Capital Cities' acquisition of ABC Inc. in 1986 and again in 1996 Capital Cities/ABC merger with The Walt Disney Company. Mr. Doerfler was instrumental in numerous other transactions over the years. Mr. Doerfler served as the Chairman of the Board of Broadcast Cable Financial Management Association. He has been a Director of Hearst Television, Inc. since June 2009, and Hearst Corporation since August 2002. He served as Director of Lazard Group LLC since June 2006. He serves as Board of Trustees of Fairleigh Dickinson University and the Board of Directors of the Arts & Business Council. He served as a Director of Lazard Ltd. from June 19, 2006 to April 26, 2011. In 1986, Mr. Doerfler was named one of "America's Best Chief Financial Officers," an honor awarded to 50 chief financial officers by Institutional Investor magazine. Mr. Doerfler graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Accounting in 1965 and also a CPA degree in 1967. He holds an M.B.A, magna cum laude, from Fairleigh Dickinson in 1972.
