Mr. Steven B. Epstein, Steve, Esq., J.D., BA serves as a Special Advisor of KBL Healthcare Acquisition Corp III. Mr. Epstein is the Founder and Senior Health Partner at Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. He founded Epstein Becker & Green in 1973. As a senior health partner in Epstein Becker & Green’s Washington D.C. office, Mr. Epstein provides a wide range of healthcare organizations and providers with strategic legal guidance responding to the legal challenges and opportunities ... of the rapidly changing American healthcare system. In this connection, he sits on the Boards of a number of health care companies and venture capital firms. Previously, Mr. Epstein has served as a Legal Consultant to the Health Maintenance Organization Service, Health Services and Mental Health Administration, U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare. Following graduation from Columbia, he joined the Wall Street law firm of Barrett Knapp Smith & Shapiro. For over 35 years, Mr. Epstein has played a unique role in the establishment of the concept that health care organizations require a dedicated form of legal representation. During such time, he was also instrumental in the acceptance of managed care as the most prominent form of health care delivery. Mr. Epstein is a pioneer in the practice of healthcare law and played a major role in the establishment of HMOs and managed care as an accepted form of health care delivery, both on the federal and state levels. Mr. Epstein has counseled many of the most recognized institutions, providers and corporations in healthcare today and is a frequent consultant on new and emerging systems of care. He was awarded the Tufts University Distinguished Alumni Award in 1999. He received Columbia University's Distinguished Alumni Award at Columbia University's 2007 graduation ceremonies. Mr. Epstein holds a Law Degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1968 and a B.A. degree from Tufts University in 1965.
