Dr. Anderson is the Chairman of the Franklin Medals and Awards for International Scientific Achievement and Business Leadership at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. He was a Managing Director Emeritus at TL Ventures. He joined the firm in 1989 and concentrated on investments in the information technology, ... software and services, healthcare, and biotechnology sectors. Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Anderson was an Executive Vice President at Safeguard Scientifics, Inc., where he guided corporate technology strategy and several successful information technology portfolio companies for five years and subsequently took the responsibility as the Chief Executive Officer for two of its software companies. Dr. Anderson served as a Senior Consultant or Advisor at Hewlett-Packard Corporation, Motorola, Siemens AG, and other Fortune 500 companies. He was the founding Chairman of Myco Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and was also the Chairman of many information technology companies including EMAX Solution Partners, Inc., WiseWire Corporation, and MatchLogic, Inc. Dr. Anderson remains active in the public sector, teaching Entrepreneurialism at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and as a Board Member of the Kelley School and Indiana University School of Medicine. After serving in Vietnam he returned to Indiana University to pursue Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Biophysics and was a Professor of Internal Medicine/Cardiology and Professor of Physiology and Biophysics and worked as an Associate Dean at Likoff Cardiovascular Institute at Hahnemann University School of Medicine and began his career at Wayne State University. He also plays an active role in the community by serving on the Board of Trustees for The Franklin Institute. Dr. Anderson received an M.D. degree from the University of Michigan and an undergraduate degree from Wayne State University.
