Dr. Frye is a Research Professor within the Medicinal Chemistry and Natural Products Division in the School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Frye has more than 50 patents and publications. Dr. Frye earned his B.S. in chemistry at North Carolina State University and his Ph.D. in organic chemistry at UNC-Chapel Hill. He also completed off-campus graduate research at the Institut de Chemie Organique de Université de Lausanne, Switzerland.
