Background

Mr. Nand Khemka is a Partner at SUN Capital Partners. Mr. Khemka is a Founder and major shareholder in the Khemka Group. He was responsible for the establishment of the Khemka Group’s Former Soviet Union (FSU) operations in 1958 and since then, has been involved in developing and managing trade between the Khemka Group and the FSU, Europe, and India involving the supply of heavy capital goods for mining, power generation, oil, gas, transportation, and the metallurgical ... industries. He has also promoted industrial joint ventures in the tire, rubber, and finance sectors. He has over 50 years of business experience in India, Russia, and internationally building and leading the business activities of the Khemka family and since the 1980s, of SUN. His business experiences over this period have been extensive, which includes commercial, industrial, and investment activities. He serves as Chairman of SUN Group. Mr. Khemka serves as Deputy Chairman of the India-Kazakhstan Joint Business Council. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Sun Interbrew Plc. He is a Member of Board of Overseers of Columbia Business School. He served as a Director of OAO SUN InBev until January 2008. He joined the World Economic Forum’s Foreign Business Leaders’ Council for Russia, chaired by the Russian Prime Minister in 1997. In addition to his roles with SUN and the Khemka Group, Mr. Khemka serves on the Russian Prime Minister’s Foreign Investment Advisory Council; Russian Prime Minister's 'Foreign Business Leaders Council' at the World Economic Forum in Davos. He is the former Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Iceland in India. The Government of Iceland has honoured him with the Knight's Order of the Falcon. Mr. Khemka received an M.B.A. in 1956 and an M.A. from Columbia University.
