Dr. Tamas Bartfai, Ph.D., is a Professor and Director of the Harold L. Dorris Neurological Research Center at the Scripps Research Institute of La Jolla, California. He is the Chairman of Medicinal Chemistry at the Karolinska Institute, Chairman of Neuroscience at the Harold L. Dorris, and a Director of Gastrotech Pharma A/S. Dr. Bartfai was an Advisor and Member of Advisory Board at NB Capital ApS. His more than 27 years of experience in neuroscience include both academic ... and pharmaceutical settings. Dr. Bartfai was a Senior Vice President at Hoffmann-La Roche, where he was the Head of Central Nervous System. He has been a consultant to Astra, Sandoz and Roche prior to actually joining Roche. He is a Board Member of a number of United States Biotech firms and advises a number of large investment banks on Pharma/Biotech. Much of his professional career was spent as a professor at Stockholm University most recently as the Chairman of the Department of Neurochemistry and Neurotoxicity. His expertise extends into the areas of peptide neurobiology and muscarinic acetylcholine receptors and he has made significant contributions to the understanding of the molecular and biochemical basis of cognition and neuroinflammation. Dr. Bartfai has published over 150 original papers and 260 publications, and has received various prizes and memberships in Academies across the world. He holds a Ph.D.
