While there, he was part of the investment team that pursued investments in the energy and environmental industry and organized a series of symposiums intended to promote the potential of clean technology as a growth opportunity for the venture capital industry. Mr. Gardner was also the Managing General Partner of two investment funds. He was a Project Leader at Weston Solutions, Inc. He held the position of a Project Leader and Project Scientist at Roy F. Weston, Inc. from June 1990 to August 1993, where he was responsible for project management, technology evaluation, and market analysis. Mr. Gardner began his career in lab positions at Genetics Institute and Brookhaven National Laboratory. He is a Director of Second Genome, Inc., mPower.com, Inc. and WorldRes.com, Inc. Mr. Gardner was a Director of Conversion Technologies International Inc. since October 1995. He has served on the Boards of more than a dozen early-stage and venture-backed technology companies. Mr. Gardner also advises PATH on the use of venture capital in the commercialization of medical technologies that meet the health needs of underserved populations in the developing world. He holds an M.B.A. degree from The Anderson School at UCLA and B.S. degrees in both Biology and Environmental Science from Tufts University.
