Mr. George W. Bodenheimer served as the the President of ESPN Inc. from November 19, 1998 to December 31, 2011 and also served as the President of ABC Sports since March 3, 2003. Mr. Bodenheimer oversaw all the multimedia sports assets of The Walt Disney Company. He served as President of ESPN (domestic focus) New York since November 19, 1998. He served as the President, ESPN (all domestic & int’l operations) since March 1, 1999. He joined ESPN in January 1981 and served ... as its Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing since September 1996. He oversaw the launch of 13 new networks. He began his ESPN career in the administration department, held several executive positions in ESPN's affiliate sales and marketing area since January19, 1981. He was responsible for affiliate sales, advertising sales, marketing and research for all of ESPN’s domestic networks. In 1982, he joined the affiliate marketing staff as marketing representative for ESPN's South Central region and also served as its Marketing Representative, Central Region since May 1985. He served as Vice President of affiliate sales and marketing since November 1992 and Senior Vice President of affiliate sales and marketing of ESPN since October 1993. He served as Senior Vice President of sales and marketing of ESPN since May 1995. He has been Executive Chairman of ESPN, Inc., a Business Unit of Disney Interactive Studios, Inc. since January 1, 2012. Mr. Bodenheimer served as a Co-chairman of Disney Media Networks unit of Walt Disney Co. since April 20, 2004. He serves as a Director of ESPN, Inc. and The Advertising Council, Inc. Mr. Bodenheimer serves on the boards of NCTA (The National Cable Telecommunications Association), Cable in the Classroom, The V Foundation for Cancer Research. He was named the 2001 "Sports Industrialist of the Year," the highest honor given by the Sports Business Daily. The Sporting News selected him as 2003's "Most Powerful Person in Sports." The list ranks those who "wield the most influence in the world of sports." Also in 2003, the Greater New York March of Dimes recognized him with its Corporate Leadership Award. He is a member of the Cable Programming Committee of the Museum of Television and Radio. Mr. Bodenheimer graduated from Denison University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics.
