Background

Dr. Glenn J. Jaffe BA, M.D. has been a Tenured Professor of Ophthalmology and Member of Vitreoretinal Faculty of Duke University Eye Center since 1989. Dr. Jaffe founded and directs the Optical Coherence Tomography Reading Center at Duke and serves as director of Uveitis Service. He serves as Director of Uveitis Service Duke Optical Coherence Tomography Reading Center, Durham, North Carolina. He serves on Editorial Board of journals Ophthalmology, Retina, Current Opinions ... in Ophthalmology, and Ocular Surgery News and reviews manuscripts for a variety of clinical and investigative ophthalmology journals. He serves as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Sirion Therapeutics, Inc. and Neurotech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He served as a Member of Ophthalmic Advisory Board for Genaera Corp., since April 2004. He published over 120 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has an active clinical and basic science research program. He Directs a basic research program funded by National Institutes of Health to investigate the mechanisms responsible for ocular inflammation and wound healing disorders. His clinical research interests include novel medical and surgical therapies of uveitis and other posterior segment disorders. He treats patients with a variety of medical and surgical vitreoretinal and uveitis diseases and he participated in numerous clinical trials of new therapies for uveitis and vitreoretinal diseases. Dr. Jaffe received his Medical Degree and ophthalmology residency training from University of California, San Francisco and completed a two year combined Clinical and Research Vitreoretinal fellowship from Medical College of Wisconsin.
