Mr. Michael R. DeVries, Mike serves as Managing Director at EDF Ventures. Mr. DeVries has 25-year medical device background and experience with venture-backed companies, which gives him a valuable perspective in guiding start-ups in the medical device industry. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at A-Med Systems. Under his leadership, the A-Med raised $30 million from venture investors including Morgenthaler Ventures, U.S. Venture Partners, Venrock, ... and Vertical Group, as well as $10 million from corporate partners. Prior to that, Mr. DeVries served as a Director of Ventures, Cardiac Surgery at Medtronic, Inc. He was instrumental in acquiring key “off-pump” coronary bypass technology for Medtronic. His background also includes serving as a key member of the management team at DLP, Inc. He served as Managing Director at EDF Ventures IV, L.P. Mr. DeVries serves as the Chairman of TransCorp, Inc., Sonoma Orthopedic Products, Inc and Direct Flow Medical, Inc. He serves as a Director of BioSurface Engineering Technologies, Inc., CardioMetrix, Inc., Rhevision Technology Inc., Biosciences Research and Commercialization Center, Alure Medical, Inc and Arxan Technologies, Inc.
