Machine Zone is using the end-to-end big data discovery platform, Datameer, for in-game event reporting, clickstream, and player behavior analytics for its next game due out in 2013. For its game, Machine Zone is teaming up with Datameer for both ad-hoc and automated in-game analytics, and to conduct machine learning on the estimated terabytes of data to be generated by the games players to truly customize and consistently improve their gaming experiences. Built natively on Hadoop, Datameer can integrate, analyze and visualize any amount or kind of data.

Datameer, Inc. announced that Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers partner Matt Murphy has joined its Board of Directors. With extensive expertise in enterprise software, mobile solutions and cloud infrastructure technology, Murphy sits on or advises more than a dozen startups. Prior to joining the Datameer board, Murphy was a board observer at Google and also advised several companies that were later acquired by the likes of Google, Dell, Groupon, and RIM. In addition to his work advising enterprise startups, Murphy also manages the iFund, a collaborative initiative with Apple that focuses on funding and building defining applications on the iOS platform and the mobile Internet. Murphy currently sits on the board or works closely with management teams from Aerohive Networks, AppDynamics, Apperian, AutoNavi, Booyah!, Drawbridge, Egnyte, RGB Networks, Puppet Labs, SessionM, Shazam, shopkick, Simplivity, Stoke and textPlus.
