Berkshire Hathaway Inc. unit Berkshire Hathaway Finance Corp. on January 15, 2013 issued $275 million of 1.600% senior notes due 2017 and $225 million of 3.000% senior notes due 2022. The 1.600% notes were priced at 101.425% of the principal amount to yield 1.261% with a spread of 45 basis points over benchmark Treasurys, while the 3.000% notes were priced at 102.433% of the principal amount to yield 2.703% with a spread of 80 basis points over benchmark Treasurys. The interest on the notes will be payable semiannually on May 15 and Nov. 15 of each year, starting May 15.
