King & Spalding recruited former U.S. Food and Drug Administration official Quynh T. Hoang as a senior regulatory consultant in the FDA and life sciences practice of its Washington, D.C., office. Hoang, a 24-year veteran of the FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health, retired from the agency last month as chief of neurodiagnostic and neurosurgical devices branch of the neurological and physical medicine devices division. Hoang will advise clients on premarket approval strategies, de novo classifications, reclassifications, investigational device exemptions, combination products and appeals from adverse agency decisions.
