For the period, the company posted revenues of GBP 661.6 million up 2% year on year excluding transit revenue and the impact of foreign exchange movements. Core profit (as measured by EBITDA) was down 5% year on year as a result of once off costs associated with the provision of new managed services contracts and restructuring costs within the business.

BT Ireland has announced that Alex Campbell has been appointed head of sales for government and major accounts in the Republic of Ireland. Campbell joins BT from ericom Business where he held the role of sales director since 2008. He has also held senior management positions in IBM Ireland in both sales and operations.
