Langham Hotels International Limited reported sales and operating results for the six months ended June 30, 2012. For the period, the company occupancy increased by 5.2% points in the first half of 2012 to 81.6% against 76.4% while average room rates increased 6.4% year-on-year to HKD 2,221 against HKD 2,088. Rooms available were 495 against 495 a year ago. For the period, the company's revenue rose 12% year-on-year. There were however signs of a slow-down in revenue growth from the second quarter onwards amidst increasing uncertainties in the world economies. Revenue from food and beverage rose 11% year-on-year in the first half, the growth was mainly driven by the improved banquet business, especially from wedding functions in the refurbished Ballroom.
