Nexmo Co., Ltd. has signed a partnership agreement with YTL Communications to launch converged 4G mobile service offering. Nexmo and YTL will launch cloud-based, two way communications, including SMS and virtual voice phone numbers, on the Malaysian market. The Nexmo - YTL Communications partnership marks the first virtual mobile phone number offering in Malaysia to cover both SMS and voice services. Global enterprises and app developers can now use Nexmo's Rest API in accessing virtual SMS and voice numbers for Malaysia to create communications-based customer experiences.

YTL Communications Expands 4G Service to Sabah

YTL Communications has expanded the coverage of its 4G service to Sabah state. 4G covers 60% of the state's population, including cities such as Kota Kinabalu, Beaufort, Keningau, Kota Belud, Kudat, Lahad Datu, Papar, Sandakan, Tawau, and Tuaran. Work to connect Sabah to the operator's 4G network started in September last year.

YTL Communications Sdn Bhd has teamed up with Intel Malaysia to roll out 4G laptops and tablet solutions for the education sector in the country. This programme seeks to deliver a cloud-bases virtual learning platform and high-speed Internet connectivity to 10,000 schools nationwide.
