Dassault Falcon Unveils New Business Jet $45 Million Falcon 5X

Dassault Falcon unveiled new business jet $45 million Falcon 5X to be finished out at expanded LR plant. The long-range jet has an expansive cabin and other improvements. That translates into breathing room for Dassault Falcon's Little Rock facility that had been squeezed by the federal government shutdown that began Oct. 1, 2013 and ended Oct. 16, 2013. The Falcon 5X prompted a $60 million expansion of Dassault Falcon Jet's plant at Little Rock, construction of which is to start early next year. The luxury jet with a 5,200-nautical-mile range will have a price of $45 million. Falcon Jet had been sweating out the partial shutdown, but the company had enough work on hand to prevent serious thought about layoffs for a few more weeks. The facility, which finishes out jets flown from France, where they are manufactured, employs about 1,800. The Falcon 5X has a new a flight-control system, new aerodynamics and other advanced technologies, many pioneered in Dassault's military programs.
Dassault Falcon Jet Appoints Carlos Brana as Senior Vice President, Teterboro Operations

Dassault Falcon Jet has appointed Carlos Brana to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Teterboro Operations. The position oversees a number of strategic sales and support activities that will be critical to the company's initiatives in the coming years. In his new position, Brana will oversee the Finance, Customer Service, Contracts and Spec & Design departments as well as Dassault Aircraft Services (DAS), the Company-owned service center network. He will also focus on the strategic development of customer support activities in new markets. Prior to this promotion, Brana served as Vice President, Contracts and Specification, a position he assumed in 2008. He joined Dassault Falcon Jet in 2005 as the International Sales Manager in China and in 2007 he was named Vice President, Assistant to the President and CEO at Dassault Falcon Jet.
Dassault Falcon Jet Appoints New Executive Management Positions Within Customer Service Organization

Dassault Falcon Jet announced two appointments within its customer service organization. Geoff Chick has been appointed to the position of Vice President of Customer Service, where he will take on responsibility for overseeing the customer experience in the Western Hemisphere. Bob Sundin has been appointed President of Dassault Aircraft Services (DAS), the company-owned service center network. Chick replaces Frank Youngkin, who retired recently after serving with the company for more than 25 years. In his new position, Chick will oversee all areas of customer service, including technical and engineering support, spares, customer service communications and business development programs. He will also oversee Dassault Falcon Jet's Authorized Service Center Network, maintenance training and quality assurance programs. Prior to taking on this new position, Chick served as Senior Director, Customer Service. Sundin served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at DAS for the past six years, where he's overseen the successful expansion of the network, including new facilities in Sorocaba, Brazil and Reno, Nevada. Both Sundin and Chick will report to Carlos Brana, Senior Vice President, Teterboro Operations.
